Purdue University's First Street Towers Housing Facilty provides an "upgrade" option for students who may have lived in a traditional residence hall. The buildings are arranged in 61, twelve-bed dwelling units, each having single bedrooms with a private bath. Each unit shares a common living space, laundry, and kitchen facility and has areas for group and private study.
Christine Lagorio for The New York Times profiled the project. Read the story by clicking the link here.
