CHAMPAIGN STUDIO HISTORY
In April 2004, Severns, Reid & Associates (SRA) and RATIO merged together to create an architecture firm focused on providing clients with exemplary design, service and creativity. Building on a successful history of design collaboration at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), the unique partnership combined RATIO’s multi-disciplinary design and planning experience with SRA’s 45-year history of advanced laboratory and technical expertise. The new arrangement also helped broaden RATIO’s geographic scope.
Located in Champaign, IL, SRA had designed and renovated facilities for corporate, institutional and higher education clients in Illinois, Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, New Mexico and Colorado.
The partnership brought together two like-minded organizations to create a single firm with the goal of providing a new level of architectural design excellence to clients in the Midwest and beyond. It also allowed RATIO to offer substantially enhanced capabilities for our higher education clients, life science firms, communities and other clients who build or renovate facilities.
